AI Training
The State of Maryland offers free, asynchronous training on a range of AI topics through our partner, InnovateUS. In addition to its async training modules, InnovateUS offers several weekly workshops on various AI topics of relevance to civil servants.
Maryland state employees can also access a catalog of AI courses in their Workday accounts. The State currently offers the following courses to all state staff except contingent workers:
- Designing AI Projects in Government: Discover how to expand AI capabilities by understanding AI types, identifying high-impact projects, and improving data quality.
- Implementing AI Projects in Government: Learn strategies for scaling AI, focusing on talent acquisition and ethical considerations unique to generative AI deployments.
- Understanding Risks and Building Resilience: Equip yourself and your government peers with the knowledge and strategies necessary for responsible AI implementation.
- Using Generative AI in Government: Learn how to integrate GenAI tools into your government work, enhancing public service delivery while safely managing risks.
- Introduction to Data Privacy: Understand the importance of protecting personal information (PI) and learn how to manage it responsibly. This course includes an optional survey to help its designers enhance the learning experience for all employees.
How to Access Workday Learning
- Log in to the My Apps Dashboard, click on the Workday tile, and then click the Menu dropdown in the top left corner.
- Select Learning from the Personal section, then type DoIT in the search box at the top of the page.
- A list of all available courses will display. Select the online course you would like to take.
- Click the Enroll button.
- Review the course details and click the Submit button.
- Click Start Course!
