Open source AI in Maryland
The State of Maryland's in-house AI experts with civil servants across agencies to scope their AI use cases and help them find the most effective solutions. In some cases, Maryland's AI experts will build open source tools that any civil servant across the state can use. They publish these tools on GitHub, an open source platform for developers to upload and manage their code.

Teams across Maryland also build open source AI to serve citizens and civil servants alike. As one example, Maryland’s Innovation team in the Governor’s office uses AI to auto-scan legislation, extract data from PDFs, build agents that can auto-fill forms, and more.
